About Erik

Erik is the father of two smart and beautiful daughters, married with his childhood sweetheart.

The family loves nature in its purest form; hence, the wild water rafting picture underneath this article.

In 1992 Erik started his career within the Royal Netherlands Navy. First with the Nautical Services on Frigates and after two years he became an Explosive Ordnance Diver for the Navy Explosive Ordnance Division.   During his naval career, Erik received two NATO peacekeeping mission medals for his participation during the Yugoslavian war. 

After the Navy, Erik started as a Commercial Salvage Diver at Wijsmuller Salvage in IJmuiden, in the Netherlands, nowadays known as Ardent Global.

In 2008 Erik took on an HR crew position at SMIT International N.V. in Rotterdam for the Transport and Heavy Lift division. A year later Erik joined the SMIT SHE-Q team and started as a project SHE-Q Officer for SMIT Marine Projects B.V. In 2010, SMIT International N.V. was taken over by Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. Erik made the switch to the Dredging Department, where he successfully delivered SHE-Q support for various dredging and offshore projects around the world.

In his last position as a SHE-Q Manager, he delivered SHE-Q support to two Business Units within the Dredging Division, BU Area Africa, Russia, Black and Caspian Sea countries as well as the Design, Tendering, Engineering Dredging Business Unit.

In addition to his work, he also volunteered for more than four years in the Works Council of Boskalis. The last year as chairman of the safety and health committee.

By being active in the project management sector worldwide for more than 20 years, Erik has taken the step to become an independent entrepreneur.
